Our Services

At Huntington Family Dental, we practice integrative dentistry. We always do what is best for the patient and bridge the gap between traditional & biological dentistry.

Brushing and flossing daily is great, but regular appointments ensure that we can catch any potential issues before they become an actual problem.

  • Teeth Cleaning

Patients who commit to routine preventive dental care typically experience fewer oral health problems over time. Semi-annual professional cleanings allow us to take a proactive approach to your dental health. Your dental hygienist uses special tools to remove excess plaque and tartar from the teeth. Once your teeth are tartar free, your hygienist will gently polish the teeth to remove surface stains. They will also look for any signs of gingivitis and may give you a few hygiene tips to help improve your smile health.

  • Flouride

Fluoride is a natural mineral that is often referred to as nature’s cavity fighter. This amazing mineral strengthens the tooth’s enamel, making it more resistant to tooth decay. Using fluoride toothpaste and drinking fluoridated water are great practices to ensure you intake a sufficient amount of fluoride daily. Professional fluoride treatments are also an effective method to fight against tooth decay, strengthen enamel, and help  children develop healthy teeth.

  • Oral Cancer Screening

Early detection and treatment of oral cancer can significantly increase your chances of a quick and complete recovery. Oral cancer can afflict anyone although tobacco users put themselves at significantly higher risk than non-users. At every hygiene visit, we examine all the tissues of your mouth including gums, cheeks, lips, tongue, and jaw. If we suspect any unusual changes in your mouth tissue, we may suggest a biopsy and microscopic analysis by a qualified lab.

  • ★ Biological Dentistry

At Huntington Family Dental, we practice integrative dentistry. We always do what is best for the patient and bridge the gap between traditional & biological dentistry. Biological dentistry focuses on seeking the safest and least toxic way to treat oral conditions. Dentists who practice biological dentistry put an emphasis on prevention. However, when treatment is required they always attempt to salvage the patient’s natural oral structures as much as possible and avoid using surgical methods, mercury, and other toxic materials. This revolutionary approach to dentistry encourages the idea that oral health affects much more than just the mouth. Biological dentists consider the whole body when treating dental ailments to help promote overall wellness. This includes SMART Mercury Removal & Ozone Therapy. We aim to find the root cause of dental conditions by not only examining the oral cavity but also asking a series of questions about the patient's health. We educate patients on why the problem occurred and how to prevent future ailments from developing.

Restorative

  • SMART Safe Mercury Removal

SMART stands for the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique. This technique is a set of safety measures that reduce a patient’s mercury exposure while removing amalgam fillings. The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology collected scientific research to develop these safety precautions. We are certified in removing amalgam fillings. Our dentists have their SMART certification, meaning they have completed the educational program on how to remove amalgam fillings from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Our dentists will design a personalized treatment plan for removing your existing amalgam fillings.

  • Crowns

Sometimes teeth are damaged because of cavities, heavy bite forces, or trauma. If a root canal is needed to salvage a compromised nerve, the tooth may be very fragile after treatment. Dental crowns, or caps, allow these teeth to be rebuilt and covered with materials that mimic nature. Crowns can be crafted to repair a single tooth or multiple teeth. They can also be used in conjunction with dental implants to fill a space.

    Schedule Your Appointment

  • Fillings

Dental fillings are one of the most common procedures in dentistry. In this routine treatment, we will inject an anesthetic near the tooth to numb the area. Then, we will use a dental drill to remove any decay present in the area and fill in the carved-out space with a dental restoration material. Fillings can be made of gold, porcelain, amalgam, or tooth-colored composite resin depending on your budget and aesthetic desires.

  • Implants

A dental implant is a metal screw that is surgically placed in the jaw bone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once the surgical site is healed, a crown will be placed on top of the implant to complete your smile. Dental implants feel and function like natural teeth and last a lifetime. Unlike removable dentures, dental implants are a permanent solution. Many patients do not even notice a difference between their replacement teeth and natural teeth. Dental implants allow patients to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

  • Bridges

Whenever you drive across a bridge, you're being supported by the same principles that support a dental bridge. Dental Bridges are used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. It's called a bridge because it spans the space and is attached at both ends to other teeth. An artificial tooth is connected to the supporting teeth and replaces the missing tooth. Many patients choose bridges because it is an affordable treatment to replace multiple teeth.

  • Full & Partial Dentures

Dentures are an affordable way to replace any number of missing teeth. They have a long history of success, and over 40 million Americans rely on dentures to maintain oral function. Dentures are removable substitutes for missing teeth. Full dentures are used when a person is missing all their natural teeth, while partial dentures replace only a few missing teeth to eliminate gaps and improve oral functions. Denture treatment is customized to each patient’s specific needs. Our team can help you decide which option works best for your smile.

  • Extractions/Wisdom Teeth

Teeth sometimes need to be removed to protect your health. Whether your mouth doesn’t have enough space for wisdom teeth to erupt properly or you have a tooth that is too damaged to save, our team will take every step to help you. Your well-being always takes priority in any treatment decision. Some patients prefer sedation to help with oral surgery, and we can review these options in your treatment plan. Our team will take every measure to make sure even minor surgical procedures are as comfortable as possible.

  • Root Canals

Toothaches are a vivid reminder that teeth aren't just pieces of hard tissue floating around in the gums. They are intricately formed sensory organs with layers of dentin and enamel protecting a living pulp. Coursing through the tooth's pulp is a vital bundle of nerves and blood vessels providing nutrients and sensation to each tooth. Root canals are the most common way to treat problemed pulp. We will remove the pulp and carefully clean out the canal. The space that is used to hold the pulp is then filled and sealed. Afterward, a crown or a restorative structure will be placed on the treated tooth to protect it and allow normal function. You may experience slight pain and discomfort for a few days after your root canal.

Veneers can hide tough stains, and chipped teeth, fill in unwanted gaps, and can even make misaligned teeth look straighter. Our team will work with you to design your veneers to your exact specifications.

Oral Condition Treatment

Oral conditions can make everyday tasks feel impossible. We use conservative treatment methods to help patients feel better and achieve optimal wellness.

  • Sleep Apnea

Researchers estimate that more than 12 million Americans have obstructive sleep apnea. Most cases are still undiagnosed and can contribute to diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and traffic accidents related to drowsy driving. Dentistry serves a vital role in treating this silent epidemic. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends oral appliances as primary therapy for the treatment of mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea and for patients with severe sleep apnea who can't tolerate CPAP treatment.

  • Teeth Grinding

If you're waking up with a sore jaw or headaches, you may be grinding your teeth at night. Teeth grinding is a subconscious habit that affects about 10% of the population. In many cases, the abrasive action occurs only during sleep and for only a few seconds at a time. Waking up with a sore jaw or a morning headache are common signs of nighttime grinding. Jaw muscles are, ounce for ounce, the strongest in the body, which means they can do a lot of unnecessary damage. A custom oral appliance can protect your excessive wear.

  • TMJ & Migraines

Botulinum can treat chronic pain, such as orofacial pain, migraines, and TMJ disorders. A small injection is strategically placed in the face to temporarily relax the muscles that are causing discomfort. Patients often prefer treating their chronic pain with Botulinum because the treatment is quick and painless, and the results last for months. Dr. Raina has received Botulinum Toxin hands-on training.

Family

No need to go to multiple dentists - we offer services for every age! Save time and schedule your entire family's dental appointments with us.

  • Sealant

Sealants dramatically reduce the number of cavities that may develop during childhood. Deep grooves run into the center of the teeth on the chewing surface of the molars. If the grooves in permanent molars are sealed at a young age, the risk of decay developing on the chewing surfaces dramatically decreases. The sealant material fills in the grooves to create a smooth surface and make the biting surface easier for little ones to clean. The resin material flowed over the grooves is quickly sealed with a blue activating light. Within a few minutes, your child’s teeth are protected against cavities. Sealants last several years and may need to be repaired or replaced periodically. But research confirms a 90% reduction in tooth decay along the chewing surface in sealed molars.

  • SDF

Silver Diamine Fluoride, or SDF, is an FDA-approved antibiotic liquid that can stop decay from progressing. While this treatment probably won’t prevent the need for a restoration in the future, it has been proven effective in stopping further decay until either the baby tooth is lost, or a more permanent means of repair can be performed.

  • Pediatric Restorative Dentistry

If your child needs restorative treatment in the form of a filling or crown, we will create a custom treatment plan for your child and review all treatment options with you before treatment begins. Our team will ensure that your child stays comfortable throughout their appointment and provide the best care possible to them.

  • Sports Mouthguards

It’s estimated that over 20 million children take part in one after-school sport or another. With that amount of children engaging in sports and other activities like skiing, gymnastics, and martial arts, there is a higher chance of injury. Did you know that up to 20% of these injuries are due to fractured or otherwise damaged teeth? Our team can create a sports mouthguard for your child to protect their smile. After an impression of your child’s teeth is taken, they will fabricate a new mouthguard molded to custom-fit their unique smile.
